Subject: *PLS SIGN* to help soldiers and their pets in war zones POLICY CHANGE NEEDED

Ratchet -- the dog who was nearly killed by his soldier-owner's commander with a bullet to the head -- is now home in Minnesota.

Ratchet is safe BUT THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE.  The problem is General Order-A1, which makes it punishable by court martial for a soldier to take in and care for an animal.  Ratchet is just one of thousands of cases.  In each case those with hearts must fight our own military to get these animals home safely.

THE MILITARY'S POLICY MUST CHANGE.

The human-animal bond has long been proven.

Soldier after soldier has testified that an animal literally saved their lives amidst the high stress and carnage of war.

Yet the military remains mired in 19th-Century thinking.

Many more soldiers are anxiously waiting for their pets to be granted safe passage home to the U.S.

THE MILITARY'S POLICY MUST CHANGE.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

SIGN THE PETITION STARTED BY M.A.R.S. - Safe Haven, the group that is valiantly trying to help soldiers get their life-saving companion animals home and saved Ratchet.  M.A.R.S. has started a letter and petition drive to the Department of Defense (DoD) to appeal their policy against animals and soldiers.
